Clay is an old material that inspired ancient philosophies, representing Earth. With water, it becomes malleable, capable of assuming new shapes. Leave it exposed to air, so that it dries slowly. Turn up the heat with fire for the final transformation, into an object that can endure millennia.
The collective welcomes artists who have elected ceramics as their preferred artistic medium. Starting from a small group formed around BRÂMICA, the ceramics studio led by Teresa Branco, the collective is looking to push the boundaries of what ceramic art can be.
Sharing some of the resources, materials and techniques, the artists put into evidence the differences in the creative processes, their respective aesthetic values and their technical backgrounds, while promoting the dialogue between the artists.
With similar clay, glazes and firing processes, very different pieces are created as the personality of each artist is reflected in their work.
